PREGNANCY & PEDIATRICS
Helping You Enjoy an Optimal Pregnancy
As a woman’s body goes through many changes during pregnancy, chiropractic is crucial. Why? It helps to balance your spine, pelvis and nervous system to keep stress from affecting your body. When your body is free of stress, it can function at its peak.
Safe, gentle chiropractic care helps your nervous system work optimally to give your baby the best opportunity to develop.
Giving Baby More Room With Webster
Pelvic balance is important during pregnancy, as it allows for the proper amount of space for the baby to grow and develop in the uterus. As you move into your third trimester, the baby will need to turn into the proper position for delivery. Breech presentation may be due to the baby not having the space to do so.
Chiropractic care provides an easier labor and delivery as well as natural pain relief due to the rigors of pregnancy and childbirth. The Webster technique is a chiropractic analysis and adjustment which realigns the pelvis and helps restore ligament function. This adjustment helps prevent torsion to the uterus and potential intrauterine constraint allowing the baby to get into the best possible position for birth.
The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction. In so doing neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is improved.
Starting Chiropractic in ChildhoodBeing Proactive Versus Reactive
One of the main reasons we’re passionate about helping children is because we know if we can start them off right, they’ll experience better health throughout their lives. In our society, we tend to be more reactive instead of proactive when it comes to health. Often, people will wait until there’s a major problem to think about their health. If we can coach patients from an early age that this is how you take care of your body, we know that they’re going to have a significant advantage in life over others who don’t think that way.
We’ve found that children respond quickly to chiropractic care. If subluxations are found, the child will function and heal better with them corrected, whether they are causing symptoms or not. Sometimes subluxations will cause symptoms even in newborns, such as digestive issues, colic, reflux, reduced movement, pain or headaches. Symptoms are not a reliable way to check for subluxations. By correcting subluxations early in life, we can stop or reduce many common issues that may have continued into adulthood.
